Am I in a wrong profession?

Sometimes I feel that I am in a wrong profession. Being a software professional, my life is limited to the world of computers. All our thinking starts from software and ends with software. we can not imagine a single day without computer and internet. We do not give proper time to our family, friends and our own body. We have tensions in family. Our social life is finished. And body seems like we are carrying it unnecessarily. Even in 2-3 years of time, body takes a shape which looses it's original identity. People who see you after few years, start saying "I can't imagine it's you". This is the story of almost all IT professionals.

But, is it true? Is the profession is responsible for all these things? I think it's not the fault of profession. It's our own fault. We are so much involved in the race of money and position that we forget some other important things in our life. We keep working and working till late nights only for some extra bucks or some more ratings, but we do not think that we are loosing much more than that extra we are earning. We should always make a balance in our personal and professional like. We should work for us, for our family, for our friends and for our country... not only for our company. We should always compare that how much we are being paid and how much we are delivering and obviously on what cost. Its a simple trade off between personal and professional life balance. The day when we realize it, all the above problems will be gone and we have lots of time to make six pack :)
So work harder but not on the cost of your personal and social life.

Thanks,
